Washington — President Joe Biden delivered his capstone address Monday afternoon about his foreign policy legacy.
"We're the only country on earth founded on an idea that all women and men are created equal," shared Biden. "My administration is leaving the next administration with an America with more friends and stronger alliances."
He spoke from the State Department, highlighting his administration’s efforts to expand NATO and rally dozens of allies to provide Ukraine with a steady stream of military aid to fight Russia.
"When Putin invaded Ukraine, he thought he would conquer Kyiv in a matter of days. Truth is, since that war began, I'm the only one who stood in the center of Kyiv -- not him. Putin never has!"
In the past four years, President Biden has used America's power to bring countries together.
To increase shared security and prosperity, stand up to aggression, and solve problems through diplomacy.
Biden also mentioned his administration's new restrictions on the export of US-developed computer chips that power artificial intelligence (AI) systems. The move is viewed by many as an effort to prevent China from accessing such advanced technology.
Biden also spoke at length about his decision to withdraw from Afghanistan three years ago and the war in Gaza and atrocities from Oct. 7, 2023 in southern Israel at the hands of Hamas militants.
"The Palestinian people deserve peace and the right to determine their own future. Israel deserves peace and real security! The hostages and their families deserve to be reunited. And so we're working urgently to close this deal."
