Mac Engel

In 2023, Mac Engel was named one of the top sports columnists in the country by the nation’s most prestigious sports journalism organization, the Associated Press Sports Editors. He has worked for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram for more than 20 years. He has covered the Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Cowboys as a beat writer for several years, as well as every major college in Texas. Mac has also covered multiple Rose Bowls, Cotton Bowls, Summer Olympics and countless other major sports stories and events. He served as an adjunct professor at the Schieffer School of Journalism at TCU for 10 years. Mac has also served in a similar role at SMU since 2019.
