'America needs a strong leader, and the world needs a strong America,' Dana White talks Trump 2024 presidency

Las Vegas On the eve of what many are calling the most consequential election in recent U.S. history, Merit TV’s Dr. Phil McGraw sat down with CEO and president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship organization Dana White for an in-depth interview.

"It's not just Americans who want Trump to win. People all over the world want Trump to win. America needs a strong leader, and the world needs a strong America," said White of his longtime friend and current Republican presidential nominee Donald J. Trump. The former president is a UFC fan and is often seen smiling, by the octagon during MMA fights.

During this year’s presidential campaign, White has returned the favor, showing his support by attending several high-profile campaign events, including Trump’s recent rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City. He even introduced Trump at this year’s Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

When asked by McGraw, "What do you say to the people who are afraid he's going to go on a revenge cycle and weaponize the Department of Justice and go after everybody who has said anything or done anything... or prosecuted him?"

"Basically, is he going to do what they did to him," responded White. "At the end of the day, Trump is a very strong guy. He's what you want in a president. He's not going to go after everybody, of course he's not. At the end of the day, he's a good guy. They keep trying to give him this image that he's this tyrant. He was already the president! How many people did he go after when he was the president of the United States? He didn't and he won't. What he will do is try to fix this country, take care of the American people and hopefully fix all the other stuff that's going on around the world."

In a previous report from Yahoo Sports, White said he isn’t “out there being very political,” apart from his intrepid support of Trump.

“I don’t care what side you’re on. We’re all Americans,” White said in the interview. “We all want the same things. We want to make a good living. We want to get a house; we want a car. We want to feel safe in our hometown and in our houses, and we want to take care of our families. No matter what walk of life you’re from, what you want, we all want the same things.”

In addition to telling McGraw why he believes it’s in the best interest of the American people for Trump to win the election, White described his self-made rise to success and touched on the current state of the country.

"If you know Dana White at all, you know he's very outspoken and doesn't mince words at all. So you hear him come through loud and clear," said McGraw.
