Sag Harbor, N.Y. — Justin Timberlake was arrested June 18 after police say he ran a stop sign in his BMW.
The 43-year-old singer is accused of driving while intoxicated on New York’s Long Island, authorities said. According to a news release, Timberlake was stopped at 12:37 a.m. after he drove through a stop sign at Madison Street and Jermain Avenue in Sag Harbor. His car veered out of its lane, according to the Sag Harbor Village Police Department.
After an overnight stay in jail, the 10-time Grammy winner was released from custody. Timberlake was charged with one DWI count. He was released on his own recognizance, meaning that no bail was set.
Timberlake has two upcoming shows in Chicago on Friday and Saturday on his global "Forget Tomorrow" tour in support of his sixth album "Everything I Thought It Was."
Then, he's scheduled for New York's Madison Square Garden next week on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Sag Harbor is a coastal village in the Hamptons, around 100 miles from New York City.
