Brooklyn, NY — PBR Teams: Maverick Days is the fourth of 12 regular-season events for the third PBR Camping World Team Series season. Competition will begin at 7:45 p.m. EDT on Friday, August 9, and Saturday, August 10.
CBS GAME OF THE WEEK SPOTLIGHT: The No. 6 Florida Freedom (3-4) take on the No. 10 New York Mavericks (2-5) inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, for this weekend’s CBS Television Network’s Game of the Week, which will air on Sunday, August 11, at Noon EDT. Last weekend in Sunrise, Florida, the hometown Freedom fell to the Mavericks, 174.5-156.75, in the final game Friday evening. The win may signify a turning of the tides for the Mavericks, who have had a slow start to the season as they have battled injury but started to find their groove in the Sunshine State, going 4-for-10 in team play last weekend.
On the other side, Florida roared back and won both their remaining games behind two more rides from rookie John Crimber, who is now No. 1 in the MVP standings after going an incredible 3-for-4 last weekend. Two of those rides came on Saturday, where the young bull riding phenom walked-off the No. 2 Oklahoma Wildcatters (4-3) with a clutch 86.5 points on Bambino in the final out before turning around and topping Whiplash for 89 points in the Shootout Round. Seemingly invigorated by Crimber’s performance, the team rolled the No. 8 Missouri Thunder (3-5), 331.25-85.25, on Sunday. Thiago Salgado took the assignment in the final shootout round of the weekend and made it look easy, covering Ridgeway for a monstrous 90 points to close out the Freedom’s first homestand in Florida on a high note.
