U.S.  Peggy Faber lives by the words: dream, believe, achieve and succeed. And after running a marathon in all 50 states, she has done just that. And Faber did it despite being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease after finishing her 25th marathon.

“I am someone who dreams big, sets goals, puts a plan in place to achieve those goals and then works her tail off to ensure those dreams come true,” explained faber. "With Parkinson’s, I’ve had to become more flexible, adjusting and modifying my goals and making changes as necessary."

Faber ran her first marathon (26.2 miles) in 1996. She no longer runs the race but has accepted the challenge of walking the distance.

She has laced up to raise money for Parkinson’s and is well on her way to achieving that funding goal.

“I hooked up with the Parkinson’s Foundation and set up a fundraiser. I have a goal of $15,000. I’m at $10,477.  I would love to get that last little bit in.”
