The Kansas City Outlaws cleared the first big hurdle, winning their first ever regular season crown. But the job is not finished until the black and orange capture a PBR Camping World Team Series Championship.
The Outlaws are taking a ton of momentum into the postseason next week in Las Vegas.
Kansas City went into the final game of the regular season still chasing the one team that's been ahead of them all season long, the Carolina Cowboys. Not only did the Outlaws beat the Cowboys with a dominating score of 264.5-0; but Kansas City also grabbed the No. 1 spot from Carolina, clinching the regular-season championship.
The Outlaws went 2-0 at Ridge Rider Days. They ended the 2024 regular season wining 14 out of their last 19 games.
By finishing in first place, Kansas City has earned a first-round bye entering the playoffs on Oct. 18 - Oct. 20. The Outlaws will enjoy some extra rest while waiting to see who they will face in Round 2 on Oct. 19th.
The Outlaws are led by 2024 World Champion Cassio Dias. PBR fans are still raving about his magical performance on Sept. 27th during night two of Rattler Days in Fort Worth, TX. Dias achieved a monumental feat by scoring a record setting 98.25 points on 2024 YETI PBR World Champion Bull, Man Hater. Dias' ride is the highest marked ride ever in the PBR Teams League. It's the second highest score in PBR history.
Dias also finished fifth in the MVP standings. And that's what makes the Outlaws so dangerous. There's another rider for K.C. who finished even higher in the MVP race. Sandro Batista finished in third place, giving the black and orange the best duo in the league, capable of delivering game-changing scores under the heaviest of pressure.
Kansas City has plenty to be proud of. But history is keeping the Outlaws humble and hungry. Last year, K.C. went into the playoffs with a first-round bye. They walked away with a disappointing fifth place finish.
The Outlaws have unfinished business. Now is a great opportunity to exercise the demons from last year.
